PMSA Standing Committee

The six standing committees of the association are central to its productivity, developing expertise and skills among Palestinian medical students to contribute positively to the national health system. These committees focus on medical education, public health, scientific research, clinical rotations, exchanges, human rights and peace, and reproductive and sexual health. Each committee follows a structured protocol with appointed officers to ensure smooth and effective operations.

PMSA Standing Committees

SCOPE is a professional exchange program that works on offering a one month clerkship to clinical medical students. Its aim is to promote cultural understanding and cooperation between students and all health professionals that help students in their medical practices.

The Standing Committee on Human Rights and Peace brings together students committed to fostering equality, peace, and solidarity across cultures. We believe human rights must apply universally and that everyone can contribute to this goal. Our mission is to empower medical students to promote and protect human rights through advocacy, education, and impactful projects.

The Standing Committee on Research Exchange (SCORE) supervises and coordinates the research exchange program, it provides students with intensive research projects which allow them to expand their knowledge of specific scientific areas of their choice, while encouraging the formation of professional and social networks abroad.

The Standing Committee on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights including HIV and AIDS is a union of passionate individuals who fight for a positive change-making, and advocate for sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). In SCORA we empower individuals with knowledge and experience to shape them into leaders, and we especially equip medical students with the necessary tools to guide others.

The standing committee on medical education (SCOME) is one of IFMSA’s standing committees.
SCOME is dedicated to implement an ideal learning environment for medical students. Through all of SCOME’s projects, trainings, and advocacy activities, it has been proven that SCOME always makes it a priority to engage medical students in all aspects of medical education, for the sake of helping medical student

SCOPH stands for the standing committee on public health, where the main focus is on topics related to public health, such as infections (tuberculosis, malaria etc.), mental health, unhealthy lifestyles, climate change, and much more. SCOPH’s mission is to raise awareness among medical students and citizens about the importance of public health, which would result in health promotion through means of prevention rather than treatment
